We are happy  to share that as a VW ID, Cupra, Seat and Škoda driver you can now set a smart charging location 📍 in the Gridio app.
Smart charging will only engage at this location - meaning that you will no longer have to pause Gridio when you want to immediately charge away from home.

The setup is super easy:

Step 1: Open the Gridio app and, if your car software supports GPS locations, you will see "No location set."

Step 2: Click on that vehicle card and set your home location. The car should be parked at this address while you set it up.

If you do not see "No location set" in your app please do the following steps:

Step 1: Make sure you have activated "Care Connect" subscription and remote access.

Step 2: Click on the vehicle card (bottom left of app) and click ‘Remove this device’.

Step 3: Add your car again by connecting it as a new connection.

Step 4: Add location in the set up process.

ℹ️ Now, next time time you plug in at your saved location, Gridio smart charging will engage.
If you plug in somewhere else (at a supermarket), then charging will happen immediately.

❗NB: If you do not see the location adding option in your Gridio app then your car most likely needs a software update or a subscription for extra connectivity.
